Interested in how many of us our taking cameras, still or video, down with us. Please make your best guess at what percentage of your dive buddies are packing cameras.

I think it would have been a better poll if you asked
"do you take a camera?"
"does your buddy take a camera?"

Since my first dive, I have taken a camera or video camera with me 95% of the time. My buddy (husband) has recently taken up photo and when not teaching, he takes his camera.

I wouldn't dive without MY camera unless it was absolutely necessary. After all, MY camera is my best insurance against seeing a great white!

As a solo diver, I only occasionally dive with a buddy. Of my regular buddies almost all are photogs so they are packing... with the exception of two who may carry a speargun when they aren't taking their camera.

Woops, can this be pulled and put in Basic Scuba Discussion? My mistake putting it here.

Done :D

:rofl3::rofl3:

Its not just yours. All I have to hear about is the giant black sea bass mating while a pod of dolphin and a school of hammerheads are watching. Jump in with a camera and I'm lucky to see a Garibaldi.

I've taken disposable cameras (to 40-50 feet) with me over 30% of the time so far.
I just received my new SeaLife DC800! So I'll be taking a camera 100% of the time now. :-)

Of the people that were my dive buddies so far at least 1 in the buddy group had a camera.
(I'm a third wheel most of the time)

Now the trip GROUP is what I opted to rate this by... about 20-30 percent of the people on the dive trips I've been on have a camera for in the water.

I take a camera ... unless I'm teaching, scootering, or doing a deep tech dive ... which means about half my dives are with a camera ...

90% of my dives are with my video camera. My wife always has her Sony P&S W80 clipped on as well.
