The DVT works well for what it was intended. It keeps water out of the 1st stage on the off chance that you've forgotten to replace the dust plug before you rinse your gear. It is pretty not useful until that moment, then you are very glad you had it.

For the price, the GT3/CDX5 and a Slimline2 octo (same price as the Alpha octo) are the ones I like.
