There have been a few articles published recently about just how rich the oceans are in terms of life-forms.

"A recent CoML test showed at least 60,000 kinds of bacteria in a single liter of seawater. A single swallow of seawater (boccone) might contain more than 1000 forms of life!"

Not the sort of thing to keep thinking about while floating at the surface waiting for pick-up. :D

I was diving in a remote part of Indonesia once and we could always tell when we were getting "too" close to a village, the water "changed" dramatically!

I always ask the fish to kindly exit the water and use the proper facilities before relieving themselves. ;)

Why should this matter?
Actually Walter....the question they seem to be asking is..."What is this matter?" :D

Thus at least one agency has now started offering the Poo Diver certification.. never feel worried about diving in poo-organisims again, your certified to do it!

Colin and I both have that cert.
