Do ScubaDivers have a need for Longfins?

There you have it, performance can be extracted from the very expensive brands of long fins but they are not for SCUBA, too unwieldy. Some guys swear by them but I can say from over twenty years freediving experience with long blades that they should remain in that realm. If you want the long blade experience without the problems while swimming with tanks try the Mares Plana Avante Tre. These are among the new breed which employ advanced plastics and moulding techniques to exploit the channelled flow designs currently used in top rated paddle fins. For comfort and control, wear them with booties, not boots.

PS, I do not recommend Force Fins. If you are not into FF fins like the Tre go with Apollo biofin or XS vented fins.
