OK, I had another thread about dive markers and it got into a good discussion about how/why to make stuff yourself. Anyone have any good Do-it-Yourself ideas?

Weights
Dive Markers
Anti-Fog Formulas (J&J+Water, etc)
Others???

Murdock325,

Click on my URL below and click on the "Diver Tips" link.

I think the DIY Intermediate Pressure Gauge is a cheap way to "gauge" (pun intended) the general health of your first stage. I also use it when checking out used regs I'm interested in.

If this thread generates some good tips, I'll add them to my list.

Some things I was thnking about making myself or know someone else has made for themselves:

Soft Weights & Belt
Regular or "hard" weights
Diver Down Float and Flag
Head Lamp Dive Light
Dive Collection / Lobster Bag
Reel
Beach "safe" or lockbox

What else? Any tips on making any of these things?

I use a mixture of baby shampoo and water to get my drysuit seals on easily. It also works as a great mask defog -- "no more tears"!

....because I'm going to try making a Polartec 300-S drysuit undergarment.

I've ordered everything I'll need, now just waiting for it all to arrive. I really hope it works out, b/c should only cost about $75, and will fit as only custom can.

Oh yay, I almost forgot the best part.... I got to pick the color.......no Jolly Green Giant for me! :out:
