Hi,
I have my first regulator set as Mares Proton XL and V16 (if not mistaken). I now want to change the 2nd stage. Can i simply change to any of Mares reg?

Honestly i have limited knowledge about it. Anyone can suggest, pls be so kind to leave your comment.

Thanks.
Arndell

PS. I'm interested to change to Proton metal (1st choice) / Abyss (2nd choice)

You can mix and match any Mares (or almost any brand) first and 2nd stages. All Mares 1st and 2nd stages operate with the same IP (intermediate pressure) range.

Sometimes there is a problem, if someone "tunes" a 1st and 2nd stage real tight and then the IP from a different 1st stage is set higher than what the 2nd stage was set for - this might result in a slight tendency to freeflow, but is easily corrected.
