Some folks get in a twist, they can, of course, choose not to read anything I write or just ask one of the good mods to take me out of their loop.

Seems your recent actions in the Socal DIR forum got you removed from that loop.
But no big loss right?
We as DIR divers do not choose your products because they do not fit into our style of diving.
So you have very little to lose by trolling in our forum is that your gig?

I think Bob has a very good and valid point here.
Some Manufactures do tend to throw their weight around in the forums.
Do you guys (manufactures)forget that we are the diving public, we know what we want and do not need lessons from Manufactures as far as gear and how to use it.
We also really do not need to be harrased by the Manufactures which make their living selling equipment to us.
Maybe try using this board to listen to what the public thinks or has to say about your product.
Then try to produce a product that meets our needs.
That's what I would think your best appraoach would be.

I could be sadly wrong, but I don't see the marketing behind harrasing, argueing or belittling a potential customer and using your special status as scubaboard advertisers to accomplish this.

Bob is completly right, either the manufactures need to be rained in a bit or tell me how much I have to pay so I can have a level playing field to fight back.

I'm pretty sure when mdb is "trolling" in the DIR forums, he is not doing it as a representative of Apollo Sports USA, INC.

Thats the other burden that the sponsors (and Mods) have. When are they themselves and when are they a sponsor? (flip side of the same coin)

I'm sure he would like to engage in a debate without losing a customer for life just because of an internet misunderstanding. Then again...maybe not. ;)

Milo: There is no special deal. Net Doc runs a very clean board.

JeffG: Yep, when I express my opinion it is just me, not "Mr. Apollo" First of all I am just a diver. Have been for 35 years, I've been with Apollo for 16 years. The real Mr. Apollo is a great innovator named Seiji Hattori, a true Ninja, 8th generation. A world class designer of SCUBA equipment. His designs and innovations have been copied by many. I was in a meeting one time with high powered attorneys and corporate types talking about one of Mr. Hattori's designs that he did not file for a US patent. Not the first or last time. The "other side" a famous US company was arguing about that point. Mr. Hattori leaned over and said to me: "Tell them they may use it. It is a good idea." The meeting was over in seconds. One of the lawyers came to me and asked; "Was he serious?" In any case Apollo is Apollo.

My comments here are just mine.

Sorry, money will not get you or anybody else favours on this board.

Each member is expected to behave according to the Terms of Service (ToS). No exceptions.

If you think that a member (regardless of their colour or status) violated the ToS, just report them.

That's the downside of being SB Staff / advertiser. :(

Chris: just on a personal basis, maybe a pair of bio-fin XT'S? They are pretty stiff-they seem to work well for frog and back kicks etc. Try them out and see for yourself. PM with your mailing info, shoe size etc.

WOW! So now I'm starting to see how this works.;)
Thanx for the heads up Rob, it's all a lot clearer now.

mdb,
Thank you for your kind and generous offer, however, I'm afraid it would be a waste of your time and effort. I'm already very pleased with the performance of my current fins and split fin designs just don't work very well with my type of diving.

Take care,
Chris
