Hello,
I cannot find a way to properly install Suunto DM5 on MacOS 10.15 (Catalina).
Once installed, the application crashes immediately.
Any clue on how to get it running?
Cheers
Hi. After dealing with this for 2 weeks I finally was able to get it working on my MacBook.
Suunto puts an application on their website that doesn't work well with Mac.
They have no customer support number, all done through chat box, not very efficient way to solve technical issues.
Then after several days and many hours, they blame the computer not their lack of foresight.
Suunto told me about a file or driver that works with their DM5 application.
When it did not open I had to call Apple, they helped me in 10 minutes.
Below are the steps I followed, I hope this helps everyone that has been having problems with this.
I'm sure there are better dive computers out there, D5 has it's limitations.
Best regards & safe diving.
1 - Go to Suunto DM5 Support
With Suunto DM5 you can easily create dive plans and analyze your dives. If you have Suunto EON Steel or EON Core, you can also customize and update your dive computer with Suunto DM5.
www.suunto.com
2 - Download for DM5 for Mac
3 - If it does not open you have to download a file or driver from:
MonoFramework
Mono is a software platform designed to allow developers to easily create cross platform applications.
www.mono-project.com
When you download the file or driver Mac software will not let you open it until you grant permission.
4 - Go to:
System settings
Privacy and Security
FileVault - Grant access to Monoframework
Click on the Monoframework file or driver
After installing the software open the Suunto DM5 application
