Hoping to hear from some one who has been diving with a Cochlear Implant. I will be getting an implant in a couple of weeks. Have done some research online within the deaf community and some people have been diving with them. Thought I would try scuba board as well. The implant manufacturers have started doing some hyperbaric chamber testing but none will warranty their product for diving. Appreciate any info!

In case anyone else with a cochlear implant finds this. I did my first dive with the CI at the Great Lakes Aquarium where I am a volunteer diver. It was the perfect place to do it with the bottom at 24 feet it is shallow but deep enough to check to see if I could equalize the pressure in the implanted ear. Weird thing was I never felt a pressure build up in the ear, my unimplanted ear would clear but did not notice anything with the implanted ear. the minimal pressure applied to the implant did not effect it.
So far so good!
