It seems like for eons that white sharks just used the Gulf Stream for traveling to and fro but about the last decade or so some have taken up residence in the keys. Or at least now that everyone has a GoPro it is more documented ans passed along. That could be a sign that the keys are thriving well. After all, would you hang around if a meal was hard to come by? I wonder if there are any "missing" resident sea turtles, grouper, other smaller sharks, at specific locations?

I’d love to come across a great white in the Keys! I would rather be freediving then scuba but either would be fine with me!

I think without the noise of scuba you might just be classified in the sharks mind as a pinniped. Also, when white's hunt pinniped's they seem to go for the one that strayed away from the group so at least stay tight with your buddies. The ones in the keys may never have hunted anything else but other fish, sharks, rays, turtles etc So we are just down right weird looking to them.

You say "Shark" I say "Grenade!".

That IS conservation. Of MY species.

I read another article that said the shark was circling a school of fish. I hope these guys weren't part of the school...
