Dang there's like, 30 grand worth of hydrotanks there lol. Are those the 10L ones or have they come out with a bigger size? They look really tall.
They are really tall. That's why you have to mount the first stage backwards. It gives you room to raise the tank higher without hitting your head on the reg.

Thanks for the explanation, I couldn't figure out why they were backwards (haven't taken avelo training)

I have posted this previously, a 10 L Avelo Hydrotank on a Jetpack and an AL80. My Scubapro MK25 regulator is mounted backward, as usual.

I'm surprised I haven't seen these yet in South Florida. Probably because I use charters Force-E will not use. Force-E does not use charters that are owned by competing shops. That is why you will never see Force-E instructors or shop scheduled groups on Pura Vida or Jupiter Dive Center boats. They will use Kyalami, Narcosis or Walkers instead. Has anyone seen the Avelo in use in South Florida yet?

I'm surprised also. Force-E offers Avelo training and rentals at their 5 locations. Avelo does not seem to be heavily promoted on their website.

I use Jupiter Dive Center so would not have seen Avelo there. I mainly use Walker's in Palm Beach and have never seen Avelo. I have not seen Avelo on Starfish in Boynton either. I have not used Loggerhead in Boynton for some time.

You may have seen that Delta's Splash in Riviera Beach has become an Avelo Dive Center (previously Splashdown in Boynton Beach). I have never seen the boat go out on my recent visits to Palm Beach.

I never mount the regulator backwards as it means my AI transmitters are facing out/exposed and more likely to snag or get dinged/damaged! Not a good design if normal mounting puts the reg too close to your head. One more reason (of many) why Avelo is not for me.

You can actually mount your regs anyway you want to. One of the first Avelo Instructors was Harmony. Harmony is about 5' tall with a short neck. She insisted that Avelo regs be mounted backwards and no one wanted to argue with her. :) Then mounting the regs backwards became an Avelo thing.

Hi @EdMcNeill09

You would have to rotate the pump hose 180 degrees to be able to mount the tank the other way. Have you tried that? I have wondered how that would work out.

A little bit of work. First you loosen the cage strap and then rotate the cage and the pump hose 180. It’s not hard. Just a little inconvenient.
