I've been diving in South Florida for a long time and have gotten a lot of fun out of diving here. This is a great place for beginners when it's calm. The reefs go on forever it seems and there are even wrecks that are fairly easy to dive with a good drop.
I figured I'd share some of my favorite dive spots with everyone here and hopefully hear other people's favorite dive spots (in South Florida and other locations). Where would you send a beginner diver to get a great diving experience?

These are some great dives off Delray Beach in South Florida (notice the contour changes - even the chart looks like it would be a good dive), though these are best dived off a boat, not from shore:

Boynton Beach and Delray have great drift dives and the Castor, Capt Tony, and Bud Bar

Less than 1.5 hours to Riviera Beach - Blue Heron Bridge - novice or expert to see some intense sea life - the list is amazing... The dive is easy - the experience is tremendous.
That has to be on the list. :D

Delray ledges are a lot of fun.

Agreed! That's also one of my favorite dives!

The Blue Heron Bridge is definitely on everyone's list but that's the problem, it's on EVERYONE'S list. It's been so crowded every time I've been there that I just stopped going. You can see some neat stuff but it's not worth feeling like you're parking and diving in a sardine can (just because there are that many people!)
