I may be moving down to the St. Pete/Venice area and I'd like to know what kind of diving I'd be in for. I've heard about the meg tooth diving in low viz. Are there any other opportunities to dive in the area? I'm interested in shore dives that allow decent viz and marine life to be seen. I'm also interested in wreck/deep dives by charter that aren't too far from Venice/St. Pete.

Thank in advance for any info you may provide.

Hi Jes and welcome to Florida.
There are many great dive sites along the west florida coast from St. Pete down to Ft. Myers. Keep a sharp eye on this sub forum and the Greater Tampa Bay area sub forum. Also check the insider info threads on both subforums for the listing of local dive boats and info on beach dive sites. There are plenty of wreck, natural and artificial reefs and ledges to dive in this area with many spots accessible either from the beaches or by kayak.
