**Diving Oriented Hotels in Cancun**

My favorite place is Cozumel but from Newark Airport there are no non-stops to there. I find the rushing to catch the connecting flight as well as rushing through Customs on the return leg to be exhausting.

It's easy to get to Cancun non stop and I'm considering a November getaway to relax my brains and do some diving though not as much as I'd do in Cozumel. I'm sure the diving in Cancun is acceptable and was wondering if anyone could recommend a hotel in the quieter area because I don't drink or carouse and don't want to be in that environment.

Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced hotel in Cancun that's on or right near the water and good dive shop and maybe has some areas where you can shore dive? Everyone seems to think that there is no shore diving in Cozumel for example but there are actually several hotels where you can (Fiesta American, Casa Del Mar, etc.) It's not like shore diving in Bonaire but is ok nevertheless.

+1 for Ben Mooney with Mayan Aqua Dive

I can't remember exactly, but I believe his Op is located in the Club International. There is a dock that he uses just 100ft from his shop. Can't say anything about the place, but it sure would be convenient if you stayed there.
