Hello -

My boyfriend and I will be in San Diego Oct 13- 15th. We have a trip planned on the Lois Ann Saturday October 14th to Coronado Islands. We would like to dive either the Marine Room or La Jolla Shores Friday afternoon. Any advice or anyone who would like to join?

Thanks,
Megan

Afternoon is pretty vague. 8pm is technically 'after noon'. Anyway. I might be diving friday early evening. I know you probably have an early boat to catch Saturday so that won't work. I dive La Jolla Shores about three times a week. Vallecetos Point has been dishing up some nice stuff lately. Here's how to get there. Gear up in the main parking lot and walk straight out in front of the big lifeguard tower. (If the surf is big, enter farther south) Swim out to about 50yards past the orange bouy and just south of the tower. Drop in and swim southwest to the 50ft contour. Turn due south and you will find the start of a wall that runs out to the point. IF YOU ARE TOO DEEP, you will miss it. Stay between 50 and 55ft. Dont loose hope if all you are seeing is a sandy slope, it just means you are still too far north. Stay at 50ft and keep heading south. You cant miss it. When you are coming back, remember! BEACH IS EAST! Trust your compass.
