Going to Japan very soon and wondering where to dive in May/June? How cold is the water, should I wear a 3mm or 5mm? Thanks in advance :)

that very much depends on where in japan you are thinking about diving? There is a huge variation in temperatures from north to south

Okinawa Japan is perfect this time of year. Cheap and about 100 walk in dives to do makes it easy. Can be sketchy cause its typhoon season though.

It will be start of wetsuit season around Tokyo and definitely 5mm at minimum here. December to May its drysuit here.
In Okinawa in summer you can do with a 3mm.

Most of the locals in Okinawa do wear 3mm but most of us US members here go with Tshirt and board shorts
