Anyone no of good places to dive around Melbourne Beach and Sebastian Inlet? I 'm sorry for the vague question but I have done the majority of my dives in West palm, I have a boat in Melbourne beach that I take out to the Inlet but have never went diving because I was not sure wear to go. I'm a novice diver so I wanted to wait and find someone who knows the area.

Diving out of Sebastian Inlet is hit or miss. The visability isn't the greatest, but you can hit some excellent days. When I talk to the local divers who go out a lot, they usually mention Pelican Flats. Back when I was young and immortal, I used to take a 14' Zodiak out of Sebastian and dive off of Wabasso and Vero for bugs.

Your best bet is to check out the local dive clubs. Actually... go to Diver Day at the Hyperbaric Center on Saturday (24th). All the LDS' will be there... Several dive clubs... etc...

I know one guy who is a serious beach diver who lives in Melbourne. We usually dive off Vero and Ft. Pierce, but in the summer time we usually do some diving off Sebastian.

Thanks for the tips i will check it out .

Mel Beach Hunt Club meets the second Monday of every month (I think!) at MeeMaws Bar-B-Q off of Eau Gallie Causeway in Indian Harbour Beach. New group, but has about 20 or 30 members.

Common to go 20+ miles out of Sebastian to the 90' ledges. Theres' some pretty diving on the 45' reefs and 60' sites, but the 90 ft stuff is best if you wanna come home with dinner....:D For sight-seeing, the 45' ledges can be pretty nice and EASY diving....
