Hi,

Regarding this issue, we are wondering if we could do one afternoon dive in Stingray City (the dive trip would start at 2:00 PM) and take an international flight at 8:00 AM the day after. This afternoon dive would be the final dive of the week.

We understand that the dive in Stingray City is a shallow dive. But, if the dive trip starts at 2:00 PM and if we start flying at 8:00 AM the day after, we will allow a little less than 18 hours (it should not be less than 16 hours) after diving and before flying. We are not sure whether it is safe and asked the question to the diving operation. The diving operation has not answered our question yet.

The Stingray City dive has a max. depth of 14 feet. But I have to ask: why are you relying upon anonymous internet posters to tell you what you can do safely? Read the DAN research on the subject (link above). Take responsibility for your own safety. It is not the dive op's job to tell you what you can do safely; you make those decisions.

An option would be to snorkel Stingray City. Whatever you decide to do, choose wisely and safely.

I think it's good to ask this question to the diving operation because it's always useful to get advice from diving professionals.

And by the way the diving operation said it was fine because it was a very shallow dive.

It's indeed an option, but so many people on this forum say that diving in Stingray City is much more fun than snorkeling.
