Okay I have been here long enough and the honey do list is a lot smaller now. Who wants to go diving? I am thinking of heading out to Moulton Al and dive the quarry. I spoke with the person who runs it and he said that if you have 10 people he will open it up before htey open for the season. I have not been in the water since July so I am looking for a few shallow dives to become one with my equipment again. Is any body interested?

Interested yes, availability will be limited to the latter part of the month. How warm do you think the H2O will be?

I moved down here from PA where I dove dry all year round. And worst case cenero I whip out the old Argon bottle for a little extra warmth. Do you dive dry? When are you available?

Never gone dry before. Still at the rookie stage in my career. I mentioned to my wife that I really want to dive the Oriskany this summer. I live in Huntsville if that is close to you.

I live in Huntsville right off south Memorial Parkway. Were is the Oriskany. What can you tell me about the wreck.

The Oriskany is a retired aircraft carrier scheduled to be sunk off Pensacola this spring or summer at a depth of about 230 feet. Check out this link

I'd like to dive Moulton if I can get a KP. I dive wet. The coldest water I've been is 58F. Moulton in March will probably be colder but it doesn't bother me. I live in Decatur and dove there last October for the 1st time. I also like Alabama Blue Water in Pelham.

You may wish to join a local forum that will put you in touch with other area divers..http://tdtdivers.com...living in the Rocket City going to Pelham may be closer and this time of year a bit warmer...it was 54 two Saturdays ago from top to bottom...vis in the first 75 ft or so was about 30ft. the "hole" was the worst I have ever seen it, hard to tell the btm from the water...

That is just as deep as the Doria. I guess the deck will be at about 130 ft.

I was told that the Pelham quarry is only about 55 feet deep. How deep is the hole? Is there anything in the hole?

Pelham can run to 140ftish....Moulton to about 65....the "O" boat is sch to be in 212ft, deck at 110-130ish...the island will start about 60 and is large enough for two or three dives...http://mbtdivers.comin P'Cola will be the primary provider I would think as they get most of the tek trade now...good shop...of course this all depends on the EPA which has been doing some major foot dragging...if all the paperwork comes down by May the sinking is a go if not another year goes by...even if it goes down can they keep her upright?....
