My wife and I will be in Cabo in January for a family vacation. We are considering taking the diving equipment with us. If so, what kind of diving can we expect in January?

Is it the right time of year to dive with any of the big animal life? Mantas, Hammerheads?, whales???

Thanks
Ryan

Hi, Ryan,

Post this in the travel(Mexico) subforum, or ask a moderator to move this for you.

Lots of diving in Cabo year-round, though I've only done it in May/June. The whales migrate into the Sea of Cortez from December to April, if I recall. There are whale watching tours, but I don't think they do "dive with whales."

The locals say that the water is cooler, and visibility poorer, from November-May (more or less). Nevertheless, they dive year-round.
