Diving in Burma - anyone from India?

hi guys,
When looking up the dive sites that are accessible from Delhi, one of the places that looks promising is Burma. It is'nt too far away and Kawthoung is the gateway to Mergui.

Has anyone done a dive trip to Burma from India - any idea on expense and what is the best route?

any alternate dive sites?

You can not get there (legally) directly from India. You would have to go through Thailand.

Try the Indian Andamans, dive operators actually in Burma are not well known if they exist at all. There are a number of liveaboard operators coming from Thailand as the above poster noted. Getting to Southern Myanmar can be problematic without dive gear, the government is not comfortable w/ FIT's down in that region, a hold over from the insurgency problems of the past. Other easily accessible dive locations from Delhi should be Sri Lanka, Lakshwadeep, Maldives, and Thailand.
