Diving in Bunaken

I had 5 days diving with Two Fish Divers in Bunaken

Overall there was a good amount of macro but conditions were difficult for video, better for photos. The best dives sites were on Siladen and further away towards Manado Dua. On Bunaken only Lek III was good enough the rest were a bit dull

I put together my trip in this short clip to give an idea of what it was like

I would like to thank Leo at Twofish for trying hard to spot the impossible in the difficult conditions we had
I had some issues with my camera when I tried to take stills so I have very few pictures to share

You did well to do dives towards manado dua and siladen. I did twofish bunaken for 5 days 4nights, I must have dived only the sites around bunaken itself and possibly one furthers north. I even requested more varied sites but just repeated the same stuff. mahbe as the weather was crap also. Defo did lekuan III three times but I found the diving v bland overall. No nudis, one turtle nothing else bigger than an angelfish. Didn't see much macro only pontohis which were cool. Nothing big either. Nice twin spot lionfish on fekui night dive. Overall bunaken experience was lacklustre but I hear that diving nain island can give hammerheads and siladen suppose to be nice.

Nice clip, have not been to Bunaken since 1995, heading to Lembeh in 10 days time, thanks for the appetizer.

You need to be specific around the sites
I told them one month before I had a camera once I got there I complained as they were not diving east sites in the morning so I got them to have the first dive with an east site
The second dive would be south and the third west so I always got plenty of light for video
However I didn't make it to barracuda point as we didn't have the numbers
My guide was amazing at macro but the conditions were not good for video

Yeah that's what I should have done. Practically wasted 4 days diving the same lacklustre sites. Wanted to go to nain as well, oh well , probably not a nxt time buy onwards and upwards! Wouldn't mind trying Bangka nxt.

The sites on east and west bunaken are good
Sachiko and mandolin (especially the latter)

Mandolin Siladen and Fekui at night are my favourite Bunaken spots but as Im not a photographer these factors dont come into play for me. Bangka id def recommend Sauhong Pinacles - loved that site.
