Has any one been diving in Bonaire and if so can you tell me a good place to stay its only my husbnad and I. Thanks a bunch *~*

I assume you mean for DIR diving? If so, Den Laman, and Sandollar are both on the same premesis as Benji Schaub's shop, Caribbean Gas Training. He does DIR fundamentals classes, and rents doubles/trimix fills. He is loosely affiliated with Bonaire Dive and Adventure, which is on the same premesis. A lot of their DMs have taken Fundies.

Do you want to stay on the water or not? What's your comfort level and budget for the resort?

Not to hijack the thread, but I'd be interested in any views people wanted to express on Captain Don's Habitat. My family and I were going to stay there on a trip to Bonaire which in the end we had to cancel, but my wife was never keen on the accommodation - thought it looked like it would be old and shabby. Any views (in case we get the chance to go back)?

Well comfort level is different than the budget can afford LOL. I do like a place that i feel safe, wont get bugs and the mattress is nice...I dont need to stay on the water unless it is not too pricey. I had mentioned some divers say to stay at Buddy Dive but i also heard its a "happening" place at night so that would cut in to my private time with hubby. Do you know any thing about the place called buddy Dive I looked at it on the internet but they have condos for up to 6 poeple in the rate. Was hoping to get away with only spending at most 130 or less a day with meals. Does that sound too cheap?

b1Gcountry [you did a lot of acronyms that I am not familar with, like what is "DIR diving" and "DIR fundamentals classes" also "DMs have taken fundies" I am lost as to what it all means can you help. Thanks a bunch ~*~

Your thread was moved from the DIR forum to the ABC Islands forum, hence the confusion. :)

My wife and I have been there twice. The first time we stayed and Bruce Bowker's Carib Inn and the second we stayed at Buddy Dive. I enjoyed both trips immensely but my next trip, I will probably stay at the Carib Inn again. It's much smaller and it's very reasonable. The house reef at both places were great. You mentioned private time with hubby. Again, I would recommend the Carib Inn. Have fun!!!
