And I must say, I can hardly wait to dive the tropics! So, with that Nitrox will be of great interest to me. I would love to hear more about you and your diving adventures. I have been talking with Dr. Sam Miller, who is a member here, and I believe he mentioned your name to me as someone I should definately talk to. I believe he also stated you would be at the Second Legends of Diving in Bowling Green, Ohio - if you are, I will be there as well.TheScubaLady:Indydivegal, Hello to you also. I would love to chat with you sometime. I read your profile and the notation that you are interested in nitrox. A few years ago I made the prediction that one day when a diver goes to the dive center for an air fill the question will be "what percentage do you want?". This is almost coming true on the liveaboard boats. More than half of the divers on every boat I have been on last year were diving nitrox. Granted it does not gain you much in Blue Springs but in the tropics it is well worth it. Go for it.
I was at Legends of Diving last August and plan on going this year. And yes I met and talked with Sam this past summer. He is a very interesting guy with lots of historical information. I have some photos that my daughter took at the event and will have them on my web site soon. Portage is one of my favorite Ohio dive sites - the water is so clear and in the summer "simply tropical" - as an old friend and former course director Don Davis used to say.indydivegal:And I must say, I can hardly wait to dive the tropics! That sounds fabulous! I am so looking forward to attending the event and meeting all the "friends" from here and those veteran divers. I am going to take the AOW Jan 9th and 11th and we will do the check out dives Feb/March at Vortex Springs. Carol, anyone that would like to go can do so. If you would be interested, send me an e-mail and I will get you the information. I believe we are taking anyone who wants to go and will have students doing check outs for OW, AOW, Cavern, and those just wanting to attend. We are looking at possibly getting a bus, but will also find that out as well.TheScubaLady:I was at Legends of Diving last August and plan on going this year. Now that sounds like an interesting offer. I have dove Oahu(two dives during a layover coming back from Australia) and Hawaii (Kona Aggressor for a week). In May I will be going to the Marshall Islands but probably will not have time to stay over in Hawaii. What island are you on? I like your job description - sound interesting.Fish Janitor:AWESOME! Nice site scubalady!
Come to Hawaii and lets do some diving.... I will introduce you to some super cool critters.
