Ashtanga yoga has been very helpful to me. In high school I ran track and triathlons and in college did martial arts. My knees no longer like running. Yet Ashtanga Yoga put me in the best shape ever. Swimming is very good for me, yet rolling out of bed and doing a half hour of yoga takes little setup and no travel, some dedication thought... It is breathing linked with eight count body builder like movement and stretching. All with focused calm intent :). The breathing linked with movement means I’m often extending my breath until I complete a move, while I avoid falling over sideways. So basically extended physical problem solving during dynamic apnea. I did the NAUI DM swim test recently without managing to train up in the pool prior, yet I did do 30 minutes of yoga each morning for weeks leading up to it. That made the difference of staying in good enough shape.

Listen to the breathing on the second, every thing is synced to a fairly slow breath, and you are working hard. Both are advanced stuff, I work on basic stuff, the short form at the moment. Vinyasa yoga is often a similar style. Plenty of stuff on not hurting yourself as well. A full lead class is 90 minutes. If you can do that for 90 minutes, you have my respect, regardless of any framework you want to coach it in.

I beach dive with heavy suit, weights, and moderate surf; cardio and strength give me the reserve I need to not stress.

... I do LOVE the idea of a diver's yoga class though, that was a great idea!

All you yoga gals and guys have my respect! It really does look like good exercise... Tried it only a few times and while it is quite hard for me (general issues with flexibility), that's why I tried. Don't mind a good struggle. Trouble is, I just seem to not be built to put up with the spirituality talk the instructor laid down.

But there may be a future yet for Yoga and me: Our book cases at home do that pose, the one demonstrated behind the OP, extremely well.

Swim and stair climber a couple of times a week. When it is hot outside I will add a three mile run with the pooch to the routine.

Used to do many sports, now there's about 1.

I'm in a calisthenics-ish mood these days. Kinda mixed with gymnastics in the sense that I'm building up for freestyle tricks in a controlled fashion (ie not what happens in street workout). However I'll allow myself a lot more freedom than in gymnastics, and if my toes aren't pointed out, I may or may not care. It cumulates to somewhere around 200 pull-ups and 400 to 500 push-ups in a week (rookie numbers I know). A bit of sprinting every now and then, and soon cycling again.
Gave a shot to stretching and fancy poses (30 minutes a day during maybe 2 months), then I got told I have ligamentous laxity, so that it could get me hurt real bad to do a lot of stretching and combining that with strength and tricks-training. So I dropped that for the moment.

Legs day? Nah, never. Who needs legs anyway.

Is it useful for scuba?
It gives a lot control over your body and knowing where each part of your body is in space. Probably increases the workload I can handle without needing to breathe excessively. So I guess that translates.
Kicking and stuff? Well, I doubt it. Although I feel like my training focused on upper body allowed me to run faster than I could back when I was playing football (real football).

By the way

I assume you meant groupers but gropers works as well.
Nah, 'Stralia got gropers :) Blue groper - Wikipedia

If you can find one, try a broga class. Like yoga, but mostly bros and skips the spiritual stuff entirely.

For me, it's weight lifting at least 3-4 times a week. I also do 3 mornings of hiit cardio and like to get some bodyweight work in at the local fitness park too.

I wanted secular yoga, so I tried a bunch of You Tube videos until I found one that was mostly free of that stuff. I do yoga at home a few days a week to YouTube videos as it fits my schedule better.

As some have read in previous posts, I snorkel 1 mile in the pool twice a week. Really need to up it to 3 times. Anyway, did my deep class yesterday. We had a really long surface swim out to the deep hole at the quarry. Dive buddy was not happy with the long surface swim. I did just fine due to all my pool laps.

THAT'S IT. And preferably one with mostly older guys who are into scuba.

The search function on the Broga(R) web site reveals no class near me.

I actually thought him calling it a broga class was a joke.

I gave it a 50-50 chance of being a joke, so I Googled it. No joke. They have a registered trademark "Broga."

That sucks. I think they have some YouTube videos and you can request interest?

:rofl3:
it's really not the best name they could have gone with.
