Re-introduced my old USD double hose regulator along with my twin 50's w/ harness, 72w/ plastic backpac and Parkway wet suit into my gear configurations. Some days I like to remember how diving was, it helps me appreciate how far we've come.

Removed the aquasub duo alert that I purchased when my kids started diving a few years ago. I bought it to get their attention underwater but found that it was not very effective or they just didn't care. It has been sitting in a drawer in the garage for 2 season now.

Added 2.4meter long hose to my primary 2nd stage reg. I was diving with a guy a few months ago who did not have a lot of experience and was using lots of air. when he hit 80 bar I gave him my reg on my, at the time, 40" hose as I had plenty of air left. Immediately after giving him the reg I needed to dump some air from my drysuit and rotated my body to the left, he was on my right....this caused the reg hose he was breathing off of to tug a bit and he decided to let it go and instead of recovering his he panicked and shot to the surface. Since then, I switched to a 2.4meter primary hose for those times I donate my 2nd stage.

Selling some misc. gear that is not needed. A Full Face Mask that I got for my wife that was never used due to she is not allowed to submerge due to sinus/ear issues. Set of bands, HOG Classic second. As for adding,,,,bought some 20" LP flex hoses to try on my twin 50's, another precision pressure gauge for setting IP and checking creep, a few Dive Rite and Genesis 2.5" HP gauges/hoses, more shock cord for trying back my wing setups (been experimenting). Am sure there could be more but my inventory is in constant flux. Oh yeah,,two Titan first stages to play with!!

I purchased a set of LP50 doubles for my recreational dives. Wanted the redundancy (I solo most of my dives), wanted to keep with the same configuration I use for my tech dives, etc. since getting them. (Not including teaching open water students). I have only made 4 dives in a single set up since. In the mini doubles.... close to 250 since March. My single BP/wing is probably only gonna see useage on dive trips that I fly to from here on out.

I also added a sidemount rig to my gear. I only have 8 dives in my set up so far. It’s new and fun. But I prefer back mounted doubles.

Which pieces of diving equipment have you added or removed this month from your collection ? And why ?

Removed: Light Monkey primary light due to 2nd cord failure in 6 months.
Added: Kraken NR-1000 Mini-Can light until Light Monkey gets repaired.
Removed: Kraken NR-1000 Mini-Can light due to flooded light head.
Added: LX20 Dive Rite cordless primary light.

Finally gave up on my Oceanic regulator set after yet another crazy delay to get parts. I don’t mind a recall, but 2 months for every service is out of hand.

Replaced with Deep6 but haven’t done anything other than the pool with it yet.

I split up my doubles.
My tech days are behind me now.

I replaced using an oral inflation bladder with a power inflation one. The oral inflation was fine as long as I wasn't also trying to deal with a dive flag, reel, and line. I might still use the oral inflation bladder for warm water where I don't have to deal with a dive flag and neoprene.

I went back to a 2nd stage on a hose on my pony. I had switched to a swivel directly in the H2Odyssey. I slipped carrying the pony and clunked it on a rock (broke my wrist as well) and either the swivel, or more likely, the 2nd stage is leaking.

Once I identify the problem I might go back to the swivel. I hardly ever dive with anyone else so ease of donating the 2nd stage isn't much of an issue. Going hoseless is a simpler configuration.

I thought that Light Monkey was one of the Gold Standards of underwater lights ?

How many lumens do you usually use for a normal cave dive, if you have no plans to take pictures nor video ?
