When i dove it it was super super visible from the surface and we we saw it from 50 yards away. But it is so far out I'd never consider swimming bc its way too dangerous, plus you'll never find it.

Take a quality anchor rope because the one we had broke because the current was absolutely ridiculous. Let us know how the jet ski works! lol

Go dive the jetties! It's a fantastic shore dive!

Tyndall MWR (Bonita Bay Outdoor Recreation Complex) rents center consoles for $75/half day or $100 for the full 8 hours. Get several buddies and split the cost.

Read through all the responses on this post, and then consider what you're trying to do. Making a half mile surface swim in the gulf, especially with the air / water temperatures right now, and all the gear you'll be carrying, is a serious task. Even if you're going to borrow a jet ski, you have to realize that you're going to have to balance all that on the way out there and it will be even harder coming back in. Like Fish Food said, just rent a pontoon boat and split the cost several ways.

Did you ever get out there yinyang?
