I've been there. A week ago actually. What is hurting out there?

dive shop is hurting way over priced a grand for a genises recon and for a cobra 2 they sell about for 800 bucks.. damn wish i had that type of money thats why im going harness and wing. alot cheaper but where to buy lmfao know of any online sites?

Chris, if you spent a bit more time writing and constructing your posts they might be easier to understand and advice would be more forthcoming.

I don't think that's beyond you, as you seem to be an intelligent young man.
As others have stated, take your time.
You're quite young get some dives under your belt.
Get some instruction, make it a habit to dive with more experienced persons.

And.... listen and learn

ChrisCrash:
fo sho ima do drysuit course im doing AOW after i get 100dives we are starting diving up in march so it should be good soo summer ima do AOW and rescue then winter ima do ice diver then ima start diving deep with doubles

If you are in PADI...you definitely don't want to wait until you have 100 dives under your belt to do your AOW...if you do you will be massively disappointed and bored...
if your swimming skills are up to it you should be thinking Rescue class with 25 dives logged...

Please get off the doubles kick :-)
As you can do your Deep Diver specialty with a single tank...

Jeeze, this is Scubaboard, not EnglishMajorBoard. If he's stressing you guys out so much why don't you go rearrange you dive gear or square up the edges on your nitrox wraps or something...

ChrisCrash, if you're for real, which I am beginning to question, it's cool to read about and think about all of this, play with the software, look at the websites, etc., especially during a winter like the one you must be enduring. However...

We don't want to be discussing some diving accident next year about the yahoo up in BC who executed some cluster******* on a dive he was no where near prepared for, killing himself, maybe his buddy, endangering the recovery divers, and generally making all of us divers look like a bunch of tools and I don't mean the sharp ones.

If you really are 17, I am quite sure you won't think it would happen to you or if it did you would walk away to laugh about it over a Molson with your buddies, but the number one cause of fatalities in caves, for example, is lack of training. What you are talking about is potentially just as loaded with risks (maybe more given the dynamic ocean environment) and just as unforgiving. Save your loonies, get your training over time so you can practice what you learn and get experience, and you will be one hell of a diver at an age where most of us were years away from taking up the sport.

And by the way, both PADI and NAUI have technical tracks, so you may not have to travel but it is very, very important to get a good and experienced instructor for learning technical diving.

Good luck and I will personally come out there to BC and kick your A#$ if you ignore all of the fine advice everyone is giving you and go off and get yourself dead "having fun." ;)

Eh henry thanks nice post ima stay with padi and ima dive alot and get my aow done and my deep water cert - nitrox all that fun dive and dive ima switch to halcyon dive system cause i tested one out and omg it was sooo comfy in a pool. Ima get a eclipse wing or something single tank dive with that and just live life i am thinking about going dive master way into instructor down in mexico and tech dive on the time i have? less i find a tech diving job when im older :) cheers
