Macintosh has less than 5% market share. It isn't cost effective to write software for 5% of the people out there, when you could write it for 95% instead.
Why do Adobe and Microsoft and others write top-notch applications for Macintosh? Why are there so many web browsers for Macintosh? There's more to this than meets the eye!

Companies that write software that would be appealing to most Mac users (Microsoft & Adobe) write software for Macintosh computers. The people buying a particular dive computer is a rather small group, the take ~5% of that and it's a tiny group.

On top of that if the dive computer companies competitors don't write software for Macs either, they know they aren't loosing any business to the competition.

That may not entirely be the case. Garmin is an example of a company that did their research and realized that the computer unit percentages didn't accurately illustrate how many more Mac users quickly and willingly adopt and use technology, making them a very attractive group of potential customers. Hence the upcoming Garmin for Mac software.

Besides, the Java point has already been made and makes either of *our* points moot :)

Java software is very slow because it runs in a virtual machine. (how it works on multiple platforms)

Someone from this board should write software that can run on a MAC. I don't think it would be all that difficult to write a program that could grab the data from any brand of computer.
