Just spent 5 nights at Divers Lodge Lembeh, and it was brilliant! The service was just incredible and the resort well run!! Everything you asked for was "OK" and then they went and did it! Diveers Lodge is definitely cheaper than KBR, Lembeh Resort and Black Sands Resort. SO if you are looking for a slightly cheaper option look at this.

We stay at lumbalumbadiving.com. They are Manado side and you get the benefit of diving Bunaken and also some lovely dives on the mainland side around Manado. The cottages are spacious and spotless, water is always hot, views are amazing and their pool is so welcome after a day's diving. Food is first class, fresh and some from their own gardens. Prices - competitive. Dutch run. Experienced dive staff provide a personalised service and lots of the guests are returners - year after year. Like us!

Hi there, I happen to have gone there last Feb, stayed at 2 different resorts, and went diving around the area.
Kima Bajo is the name of a village outside the city center of Manado with a quick access to the Bunaken Island by boat.

There is one resort there called Cocotinos. It's small and cozy and has really good service and diving offers. I had super good experience during my stay and dives at Cocotinos. Highly recommended! And they have offer amazing good value for money as well. I moved to another resort in the same area called Kima Bajo resort (named after the village) for a function and it was nowhere near the quality level of Cocotinos despite the large spacious area and higher price.

Around Manado mainland, the dive spots are basically sandy slopes and coral gardens.
Around 20-30 minutes away from the mainland, there lies the Bunaken island, surrounded by amazing colourful wall corals, mixture of soft and hard corals, with non-visible bottom.
Lembeh is another island, farther than Bunaken from the mainland. Lembeh is famous for its small creatures on its black sandy bottom, requiring some patience and good buoyancy control.

The mainland Manado, Bunaken, and Lembeh are all offering good variations and excitements of diving experiences for all levels of expertise with great visibility as well. I am sure you will have great experiences there.

Lombok can also be a good choice, but most people would much prefer Bali which offers more variations of dive spots, resorts, and places to go when you are not diving. I don't think you should go to Lombok if you haven't been to Bali :)
