*** MODERATOR POST ***

The OP asked a legitimate question and you guys did nothing but poke fun at him and the entire subject matter.

*** MODERATOR POST ***

I wasn't offended, nor did I feel like I was being poked fun at. The humor, however was very juvenile. You guys should be able to do better than that if you are trying to be funny.

I'm the mod that "trashed" your ridiculous posts. The OP asked a legitimate question and you guys did nothing but poke fun at him and the entire subject matter. Do us a favor and keep your snide remarks in your own area. If you have something constructive to say in a forum like this, feel free to. If you don't, please stay out.

ScubaTexan at the risk of ticking off a moderator, I think you're out of order with your above post. No one was poking fun at the OP - The inquiry was "loaded" and bound to draw some funny remarks - people were having fun with it and it spiraled from there. There was no malice in any of the posts, just some jokes and everybody getting on the band wagon - nothing snide was said - As Cbulla commented the responses to the OPs question were probably better suited for the Surface Interval board. Not saying you weren't in the right when you took it down, but there's no need to be snippy about it.

I don't have a dog in this fight, merely came across it while reading the "new posts". I have to admit, the comment "in your own area" has me curious. is there a place where snide remarks are alllowed?

OH you two are so going to be hanging out with Jeff soon. . .

I didn't read the doc's link, but as someone who has had to dive on meds, if I wish to dive at all, I would recommend that we remember that every person reacts differently to different meds.

I hurt my back in Sept. '05, slipping a bunch of discs and pinching three nerves. I tried diving on the pain meds, but soon realized I couldn't do so safely. SO, I had to not dive until I no longer needed pain meds (the longest 7 months in my life). I still use two prescription meds three times daily. When I started diving again, after my doc said ok to giving it a try, I did shallow dives with buddies that know me, to help me monitor if I could do the dive without freaking out or something bad happening.

So, continueing with my recommendation, if you, or anyone, is going to dive on ANY type of prescription drug, you should get a doctor's approval, then take it slow, to see how you, individually, react.

This is excellent advice. In effect whats happening is your accelerating the effects of the medication by accelerating the rate at which it is being absorbed by the body. Very interesting stuff that hyperberic medicine... Other than sea sick stuff or the occaisional OTC Tylenol allergy stuff, I've got a rule that if I can't dive it clean I'm not willing to chance it. I've got to much at stake ya know. :)
