This has probably been asked before but...
I have recently undergone gastric bypass surgery, so, my question is;
how long till I can dive again? and,
Will having this surgery limit me when I can dive again?

In case you ask: That's pretty drastic isn't it?,
well yes it is but, if i didn't do it ....the weight would continue to limit my diving and my health, so once able... rescue diver training here I come.

I dove to over 134' two months after having my lung re-inflated (PNEUMOTHORAX) and 4 dislocated ribs in 2001! As long as there is no trapped air and your incision is healed I wouldn't sweat it! I play a Doctor whenever she will let me and would be glad to play one on TV!

Each case is individual, but in general, we ask people not to do heavy lifting for six weeks after abdominal surgery. In addition, after gastric bypass surgery, you can initially have some problems with nutrition, hydration and electrolyte balance, and the six weeks should give you enough time to begin to understand how best to manage your new physiology. Obviously, if there are any complications, the time would be extended.
