I wasn't there when it happened, but spoke with several divers in the group that she dove with. In fact they had watched my DVD's at Antonio's the night before.

Diver is a 25 year old female. I believe she was with her instructor in an AOW class. I heard they were diving as deep as 100 ft (not confirmed). Her mask flooded and she panicked, taking water into her lungs. She apparently removed her reg mouthpiece several times (it was replaced by another diver when she did). She then bolted to the surface with several divers trying to hold her at depth.

Color was stone gray at the surface. I saw the helicopter transporting her to the chamber at USC. No further word.

Just curious, why didn't they use the chamber on Catalina?

The Catalina chamber is at the USC Wrigley Institute for Environmental Studies (Two Harbors).

We saw a Sheriff (not Coast Guard) helicopter flying west along the frontside from the direction of Avalon toward the direction of the isthmus Sunday. Wonder if that was involved with it?
