I very rarely bother to praise most businesses especially
Dive Centers because if a place is "doing what it's supposed to
do" then that is what one would expect and there is no reason to praise it.

The majority of Dive Centers I have been to manage to get
their customers back to their hotels in 1 piece after what has hopefully
been a safe and enjoyable experience. I am amazed sometimes that despite what seem to be children captaining the boats and Divemasters who aren't especially attentive or who commit flagrant breaches of safety protocols that more people aren't hurt or worse on these boats.

We all know that "we are ultimatetely responsible for our own safety" but we still are at the mercy of DM's to an extent as well as to boat captains and people who service dive gear.

With this in mind I would like to commend Serge de Groote
who is the manager of the Divi Dive Bonaire at the Divi Flamingo Beach Resort in Bonaire, Netherlands Antilles.

This dive operation seems to run like a clock, the dive personnel are mature and very capable and helpful and it's a real pleasure
for me to use their center and even if I am not staying at the Divi itself I am happy to drive to their location.

Their set-up is the best I have ever seen.* No place I know of is even a close second.* The newly replaced Dive lockers are 6+ feet tall and allow for sufficient and secure storage for 2 divers.* No more hanging your gear from wall pegs and hoping it's there the next morning. The lockers are right on the pier itself and just gear up and you jump into the Caribbean.

Best dive center and best personnel I've ever seen.

Nice to hear . I agree with your assessment of some dive outfits . They depend on one very important thing in getting everyone back , the human instinct for survival .
