I have used both shops and I have had positive experiences from both. I would tend to agree with using Divetank for Suunto products as they are an authorized dealer, however I just bought a Suunto compass from LP as it was more convenient since it is local for me. No problems so far.

More of my money just went to Leisure Pro today along with some of my dive buddy's money. I am a satisfied repeat customer. If I have a problem I don't get any kind of run around I call LP and they make it right. I don't know if they eat it or get credit from the mfg. All I know is that they take care of their customer when there is a problem.

I too would stay away from Leisure Pro on an item like this. I would want full manufacturers warranty standing behind the product. For example, a recall like Oceanic had. I am not sure how Leisure Pro would handle this. What if the recall occurred outside of the warranty? Would Leasure Pro cover this and eat the cost of all the computers they sold or would the consumer just be SOL?

Why would leisurepro have to "eat the cost"? If there is a "recall" the manufacturer will have to provide service even if you stole it. But getting an independent authorized dealer to do anything is entirely up to him.

If the price is the same, the authorized dealer just seems to offer less potential problems.

I got 2 computers from LP and have had no problems... Infact I have bought lots of stuff from them and have had nothing but good experiances...

Which ever is cheaper. Leisurepro stands behind the products they sell. I've bought several things from them and had to return some. Handled professionally and without a hitch, even though the problems were my fault.

Suunto is very solid computer. If you aren't darn bad luck guy, you might not have a chance to need a warranty service. Don't you agree with this assumption?

Divetank.. The review on that store is very mixed. Check out the old thread.

What if you had to wait for a recall service for two month?

I had great experience from LP until i had to return/warranty a few products. Then they started giving me the run around.:shakehead: They've lost me as a customer because of that.

Just my 0.02$

I've dealt with both and I would buy the computer from Richard at divetank. All the people are excellent to work with, and you can talk to the owner, Richard, when you like. The only issue I have is how they can sell an AL product like a computer, but won't sell me an AL second stage or set for that matter:confused:

I tend to buy non-electronic stuff from LP....fins, compass, doodads. However, many people buy tons of stuff from LP.
