We did Salt Pier as a twilight dive in August with divemasters from Toucan. What we were told is that it's allowed with a local guide. Whether that has any truth in it at all or if it was just the divemasters wanting to make an extra $35 a diver outside of the shop is left up to you to figure out. It is a great dive though.

When we were on Bonaire in November, there was usually a uniformed guard on duty at the Salt Pier. When we asked the guard if we could dive the Salt Pier, he responded, “Sure, but not when a boat is docked.” He then directed us to park and wished us a fun dive.

This sure beats being sneaky, i.e., entering at Jeannie’s Glory and then accidentally on purpose getting lost and turning left.

The Salt Pier is an excellent dive.
