I found a great rate for a 3 bd villa at Delfins ($243/night) but I've read older reports regarding the DF locker room which were discouraging (gear needs to be dried off, very small).

Looking for recent feedback on Delfins: Do most guests take their gear back to their unit? Has anyone stayed in the villas before or know how far are they from the pier? Are carts avail if our kids want to dive the house reef? TIA

There are carts, and the setup for the house reef is great—nice showers, easy in off a good pier with wide metal steps. The house reef, not so great, but it’s an easy dive.

Thanks for this info! Did you take gear back to your unit and not use their locker? I saw a woman posting on FB that she saw a baitball and even dolphins quite recently at Delfins so I'm hoping the house reef isn't so bad.

We were there shortly after the place opened--I'm not sure there were lockers then. But we had a truck and were not focused on the house reef. It's a good location for the southern sites, and not bad for in-town sites. We did keep our gear in the unit, and we'd leave it in the truck during the day; the entire property is fenced/gated. The house reef is fine, a bit of a long swimout, then a long gentle slope. N.b., it's far enough, and the slope is gradual enough, that it's a good place to practice navigation. The pool is outstanding, there's lots of sand for sitting/laying by the water, and the food from the beach bar is quite good--we go there a time or two every trip.
