Divers plucked from Gulf after boat capsizes
VENICE, Fla. (AP) — Five people spent almost three hours in the Gulf of Mexico after their dive boat was capsized by a 9-foot wave.

The Coast Guard says a 24-foot boat capsized about 8:30 yesterday morning when it was overtaken by a large wave about seven miles off Venice Inlet.

All five people on board used their dive gear as floating devices.

A Sarasota police helicopter spotted the boat and divers about three hour 10:45 a.m.

No one was injured.

don't those things have rafts?

...and they say NOT to use a bc as a pfd?! If I'm on a boat in rough waters, I WANT my gear on! Also a good reason to always keep some air in the bc when prepping it.
