CFD: Diver in critical condition after rescue east of Navy Pier

Double Action’s boat Seaquest II was going out to the Thomas Hume wreck this morning. 145-150ft to the bottom. Don’t know if this is that charter or not. I’ve been on the lake and we’ve passed small private boats flying the diver down flag.

Doesnt sound like he was on a private boat according to the article: "The victim was diving with a group on a recreational charter boat near a shipwreck about 18 miles east of Navy Pier before the distress call, according to CFD."

Would that fit with the location of the Thomas Hume?

Yes, that should be the Hume. There are a few other charter boats that go out of harbors just south of the WI border. Not sure if they would go to the Hume.

Charter op owner posted on FB that the diver is doing well. They don’t think it’s DCS at all, but something else exacerbated by the diving.

Diver dove his plan, no missed deco, computer showed him clear.

Thank you for continuing to spread the truth. It is much appreciated by the friends and family.

The update was posted in the Scuba Accidents group on FB if you want to see it first hand.

Yes, the local news is still reporting it was DCS.
