Seems he was a certified diver who's children/grandchildren were going through OW training.
He was allowed to tag along. What is unclear was who he was buddied with and if he had been an active diver.

I did finally hear more information on this.
The diver was the night security guard for my office - do keep his family in prayers as the services are tommorow.

Looks like yet another accident, 48 year old man is missing....
My girls just got certified there 2 weeks ago, and I dove too. Vis is ridiculously poor, I could not imagine diving there amidst all of the debris around the dam. I am not that good of a diver yet. It really is quite unsafe given visibility issues.
