Bah, do you already have the prerequisite courses done (AOW, rescue?).

Thanks for the response. I do have my AOW, but no rescue diver. I would prefer to do it before leaving, but with college and work constraints I really don't have any time to do it before the summer.

Bah, yeah, this is plenty of time to do the course in! Get the books ahead of time and do the reading, self study, etc. The exams are straight from all the books, so if you get them and do the work, you should be able to arrive ready to kick through all the tests (and get some help with whatever you don't understand).

Then, once that's done, you're really good to go! Even if you just dive once a day, five days a week you'll easily blow through another 50 dives... which'll get you into the range of reasonable confidence and experience to be leading other divers.

The course CAN BE DONE in 2 weeks (I did, but came in with all the skills and the book work done)... The question is just how long will it take you to be a good enough diver to lead others... that's a personal question, but I'd be pretty confident you could get there in 6 weeks!
