The watch you linked to is not autowinding---it is quartz--at least on the link I read it was so it does not meet your spec either.

Right, got it. I said that in my post. I had to settle for that one because it did not have all the features I want. But so far it carries more of the features I'm looking for than any other watch I can afford. The only thing it (the Swiss Army model 241174) does not have is auto winding. The Seiko I linked to (SKA367) does not have a sapphire crystal and is not available in orange face.

Hint, JFYI, when a watch is described as "Automatic" that means it is a mechanical autowinder, there is a pendulum that stores energy in a main spring. If it says quartz that means it uses a battery or some other electric generating/power source to excite the quartz crystal and time the electric motor. There are also the EcoDrive type watches etc. Hope this helps.

Cool, got that too, but thanks for the reminder. I have looked at some of the available Citizen watches and not yet found anything that has all the specs I want.

Still looking for....

-At least 200 Meter depth rating
-Sapphire crystal
-Auto winding, Kenitic, Eco-Drive whatever you want to call it. NO BATTERY.
-Screw in crown and back
-Orange face OK maybe a black face but I prefer orange
-Stainless steel bracelet and case. NO I do not want a rubber/plastic/nylon band.
-Biggest luminos dots I can find.
-NO LCD or LED display at all.

To each his own here but no one will beat this one(for price & operation as a diving time piece) with a 2000' pole......ie note price to your front door steps & functions(it's almost disposable---but I've only 'gone thru' 3 since '89)........enjoy......

Why buy a "dive watch" when a good computer costs less?

Good question!

I will eventually afford a backup to my Suunto Cobra. I will probably go with a different model like a Vyper.... Have not put to much thought into that purchase yet and will cross that bridge when I come to it.

I do however want a dive watch in the interm so I have at the very least a bottom timer in backup to my Cobra in case I lose it for some reason.

Besides I want a big thick heavy manly cool looking dive watch for my ego.

You want a watch-computer ...Citizen HYPER AQUALAND. Got that for my 40th B day...I use it only in fresh water, since it has more sentimental value. I want to preserve it. But the wife insist I abuse it. That is why she gave it to me...got to love that woman...

But up here it cost around 480 CDN.

As I said "To each his own".......I'm confused now, is it 6 or 7 features you're looking for.....Oh & btw, you need to state the features you're looking for in your OP, to my knowledge you gave a picture & wanted to know about the value & if any people here knew of problems with the watch......

As for why a dive watch, redundancy to a possible computer failure. I will echo the feelings on the Seiko Monster series, I own the black one. Sapphire glass is great for scratch resistance, however it is more brittle than Seiko's hardlex, which is specific to them. On a scale of 1-10 sapphire is a 9 while hardlex is a 5.5 in scratch resistance. At depth pressure becomes an issue, and although it may be unlikely to happen, direct trauma at deeper depths would cause sapphire to fracture easier.

BTW I sell watches, and if anyone wants a good deal on a Seiko let me know I get great prices.

Why a a watch, because a dive computer would look stupid in a meeting with your boss and other important people.
