I've described local offshore dive outings on the Giant Stride in recent Scuba Board posts. Simply put, this boat will spoil you. Capt. Jim is heading to the oil rigs Sunday morning for a two tank dive, the trip fee is $100. We meet at the boat docked in Ports of Call at 6:30 AM and should be back by noon. Divers need to bring two full tanks (if possible). This trip is for experienced divers with good buoyancy control.

I've heard good things about these trips, but no compressor on board?

The Giant Stride
Located in San Pedro, CA
Giant Stride is a private 6-pack dive charter boat catering to underwater photographers, tech divers, and small groups of divers.
Features a full galley and a 3500psi compressor.
Salon/Dining/Entertainment space includes a 37”
flat panel LCD TV. DVD and Video system capabilities.

Sounds like a compressor is on board but no tanks. Ill have to keep an eye on it for another trip I could probably get 6 divers together for one of these trips easily especially around lobster season.

Divers,

There is a high pressure compressor on board. We ask you to bring two tanks so Capt. Jim can fill one tank while you are underwater using the other. This has two advantages; short turnaround time between dives, and eliminates the drone of the compressor in the background during the surface interval. The Giant Stride setup allows you to transition quickly between dives. As an example, on our last outing we met at the boat at 6AM, did the Olympic II, Pt. Vicente and Hawthorne Reef and were back at the dock by 2pm.
