Dive shop/school in Central IL

Hello; first post. I love the carib and snorkeling and really really want to learn to scuba. We are going to Mexico in January and it would be great to have everything completed by then.
Any recommendations for quality dive schools/classes in central IL?

Welcome to the Forum....I run a Dive shop in Plainfield IL....where are you located? I can still most likely get you done for your trip....of course mother nature could make it not happen, but most likely I can make you an excellent certified diver for your trip

An excellent dive shop with excellent people is Adventure Dive and Travel in Springfield, IL. A friend sent me there a few years ago and I've found them to give outstanding service.

I recommend http://www.mds-scuba.com/. They are an active dive shop that has great instructors. They also have frequent dive trips local and abroad. This keeps you active in the sport and introduces you to others to dive with.

A friend of mine was certified at Midwest Scuba Center in Champaign and was very happy with their training. I was not impressed with the looks of their old shop. They have opened a new shop but I haven't been there.

I agree with the prior recommendation of MDS scuba. My wife got certifeid thru them in July and they were extremely accomodating. She had some issues with some of the pool skils and they provideed her with almost individual instruction. They have shops in Champaign and Bloomington and are quite active as far as trips and outings to area dive sites. Please feel free to Pm me and I will be happy to share our experiences with you.
