DIVE RITE TECH-TOUR COMING TO NORTH TEXAS
September 20 – 21, 2008
Clear Springs Scuba Park, Terrell, TX
9AM – 5PM Saturday
9AM – 3PM Sunday

This is another reminder of the Dive Rite Tech Tour Event being held the weekend of September 20 & 21 at Clear Springs Scuba Park (Terrell TX). I've had a lot of questions about the Event already, and I wanted to re-emphasize some details here...
Yes - we will have rebreathers there (and yes, you can dive them).
Yes - we will have all of our other gear there too (and yes, you can dive it all).
Yes - it's the entire weekend (and yes, it'll be busy).
Yes - we are expecting you there!

We will have the full line of products, Iincluding the Optima CCR rebreather, to test dive (plus a few more surprises&#8230:wink:. There will be seminars on new diving techniques, demonstrations of new products, and even free giveaways to trial participants.

Test-dive the gear in the lake with Dive Rite team of expert divers. Dive Rite staff will be on hand to lead demo dives on the rebreather, while other members of the Team will have LED and HID lights, Transpacs, backplate/aircell systems, reels, computers, the Hurricane and Jetstream regulators, fins, drysuits, and lots more for you to try out!

There is no charge for attending the Tech-Tour Event (a modest fee of $25 for the Optima experience does apply, covering expenses and consumables used on the rebreather), and please note that any regular local Park fees may apply. There are only so many hours in the day, so be there early. “First come, first to get wet”.

Not counting what you demo with Dive Rite, you will need your own scuba gear (ie: mask, fins, weights, exposure-protection, air, etc), which can be rented at local dive-stores if you don’t have something yet. DiveRite will not be selling anything here, it’s simply to help familiarize you with our products in their natural environment… the water.

All certified divers are welcome, so come enhance your knowledge and try something new and exciting. We’ll be diving come rain or come shine!

For more information, check our website at Technical Dive Gear Demo Day and Tryouts: Dive Rite Tech Tour, or contact me (ronc@diverite.com).

Thanks!

Hi.. I'm a new diver, I do not own a BC or any floatie thing.. I trained in a wrap around BC that keeps you vertical on the surface ..I like the way the BW/P looks all minimal ..Clean!!
would you recommend this pack to a new diver? I've never tried a Back inflate. Are the Diverite tec tours friendly and helpful ? I've not a clue on the weight need for SS or Al tanks + or - this and that? thanks

Greetings all!

Hi TwoBitTxn: Looking forward to seeing you there. It’s going to be busy (as always) but it will be good to catch up with you.

Ladyvalea: Well, you’ve come to the right place and at the right time. Trying our different gear and learning about everything is what we’re all about at the Tech-Tours!
The BP/W concept is indeed very clean and minimalist in approach, but loaded with features and options. As far as it working for you, I know the answer already but heartily invite you to come out and see for yourself that it’s everything you’ve heard about and more!
You asked about being Friendly and Helpful? That’s one of the basic reasons we’re sponsoring the Tech-Tour. Not only is it a chance to come out and dive the gear that you may have only read about and to get your questions answered, but it’s also designed to have fun while doing it.
And isn’t that what diving is supposed to be all about?

See y'all there.

Thanks!
Ron

Thanks Mr.Ron!!! I'm goin to try to come out on the 21st Sunday tour!

I'm also goin to bring my 15yo son, who is a new diver and the BW/P webbing straps are adjustable for a growning boy!

Thanks so much!

Ron -

I know you won't remember me at all. But, this is all tongue and cheek you and I have met and had enjoyable conversations.

BAD on the 33rd annual event in Houston and you or your staff cancel out over 65% of the diving population of the state and make me drive back over night to attend the closing ceremonies on Sunday. Friendly chaps my ass.

But the hell with the calenders posted everywhere on the WWW, we will have to accomodate DR.

LOL, I've got 2 wings and a set up. Just bustin' you for adding to Exxons bank account.

 I am so confused by the last post I just have to ask what you mean? The Bay Area Divers have a flea market right? Did Dive Rite agree to do the event before they set up the tech tour and then cancel on BAD or are you saying Dive Rite should have realized the weekend and not planned one then because BAD has 65% of the diving population of Texas? Why do you have to drive back and forth? Dive Rite has several events throughout the state and if I am not mistaken they just had one at Mammoth Lake and at Lake Travis within the past 6 months. I am pretty sure I asked this last year or the year before as to why BAD does not post something on Scubaboard about their event. I always forget about it until the last minute or after the event is already over.

Hi -

Ok, I feel better now that I wasn't the only one scratching my head over that post. ;-)

The Tech-Tours (planned up to a year in advance) have been prominently listed on our website since early spring, and I had no idea that BAD’s Flea-Market was even in September back then. Still not sure about that 65% figure either... do you mean DiveRite or BAD has that market-share? Either way that's cool, it just means that there's a lot of divers out there, and that's a good thing for all of us.

I don’t have a name/face to place with the nickname (Trimix2dive), but I would love to talk to you about our equipment when I see you.

Thanks!
Ron

I was at Terrell last weekend and - FYI - viz is down to like 3 feet. I didnt realize just how good it was back in June....still - any chance to get wet I guess :)

All the more reason to come out again this weekend. I hear the viz is supposed to be over 30 feet... but just one or two at a time.

In all seriousness, we WILL be there. Hope everyone else will as well. Let's go diving!

Thanks,
Ron
