Dive Rite HID issue

I picked up a Dive Rite HID 10-watt system with the MR11 head this afternoon. I charged it all the way and flipped the switch only to find that it flickers for 3-5 sec and then dies. Its my first HID and my first canister light so I want to make sure there isnt anything that I am missing before I bring it back to the LDS. I checked the battery with my multi-meter, its fine.

Any ideas?

It sounds like you are doing everything right. Let the shop look at it.

take it back..

They tend to flicker wshen you turn them on, but they should stay on when they warm up.

As suspected, it was broken. Big thanks to Dori at Splash Dive Center in Alexandria VA for being so great about replacing it.
