The last time I took off my BC underwater was during my pool training sessions. It was one of the skills that we had to perform is being able to take off your bc and then get it back on. Did you not have to do this? This is from my PADI training. You don't "ditch" it you just separate your self from it being strapped on, and then you are able to turn around freely and see what you are caught on, surly the whole time you are using your air source. You would do this if you were ever diving alone and caught up not able to see what it is (some people do), or caught and your partner could not get to where you are for some reason.

Abyssdiver:
Gerard,

go to www.abyss.biz and check out the wing and backplate prices!!! You will love what you see and get a very nice set-up.. Yes I'm bias on the gear but it costs nothing to check out the product offer...

Let me know what you think
Randy

cool thanks for the suggestion. Although they seem as expensive or more than other systems. They do look like quality products. But that is just from pictures. Thanks again.

I checked with Chris at Abyss a week ago and he had no wings in stock for single tank diving. :-( All he seems to have left is wings in the 80 - 95 lb range. If anyone knows if they got anything new in please let me know thanks.
