When Diving with a dual bladder wing you leave one of the inflators disconnected from the lp hose, so you don't have to worry about a runnaway. You just have the extra bladder "in case". I caver straightened me out on that one.

What's up people, I am going to buy a BP/Wing system and found the one I want from Dive Rite. I was curious if people thing this is very expensive. Please remember that these prices are from a package. It seems a little high to me. Please Advise!!

I wanted to get the STA over the 2 tank straps because I could use the extra weight. I know a lot of people say to just get $20 webbing but the Transplate Harness looks a lot more comfortable. Although I have never worn either. Thanks for any advice.

Keep in mind that the systems at the Abyss site are for double tanks only, as they don't come with STA's and they don't sell single tank wings. Thus, they're still more expensive than the current sale at NESS.

Not true... They make a 30lb and 45lb single tank wing..and with the backplate you don't need to purchase a single tank adapter.. The camband threads through two slots of each side of the backplate.. When the canband comes out through the back it forms a "Y" around the cylinder and pulls it towards the diver.. Which helps with your balance and trim.. I can put you in contact with divers using this system and loving it.. And you are wrong about the pricing.. Check out the website and tell me if you can find a quality built wing, backplate and harness system on the market today from anyone else!!

I know that the material used in making the wing, bladder and backplate are as good and in some cases even better than what most Tec companies are selling to you divers out there.. Check it out and let me know

Abyss makes a 30lb and 45lb single tank wing for general diving.. You also did not need a STA with this system.. You would thread the camband through two slots on each side of the wing and come out the back around the cylinder.. This creates a "Y" arounf the cylinder and hold it tight and closer to you.. Thus reducing roll and the final point is reducing the cost of purchasing the STA and saving you the diver money?? Wow think about that saving money in diving what a concept

That's pretty cool, the site doesn't seem to mention that. What about cam bands? The packages don't seem to include those, either.

You would need to purchase the cambands as a seperate item.. The system was broken down to reduce the cost for divers that had certain items and wanted to save a few dollars...

The weight belt does not get in the way of the harness strap. I did away with my weight belt after pouring myself a channel weight, though.

What happens if you have to take off your gear underwater? Are you still able to stay on the bottom and be able to put it back on without floating up when it comes off? I'm wondering because I'm considering the channel weights also but then thought about the good old "taking off your gear and putting it back on", underwater from training. Thanks for your help!

When was the last time you took your BC off underwater? What sense does that make? The last thing I'm going to do underwater is ditch my air source. If I'm in a bind, that's what my buddy is for.
