Considering buying one. Any reasons not to or to buy a different can light?

The EX35 only runs at 100% for 1 hour, then starts tapering down to 1% over the next 5 hours.
I don't know where you got those specs. This is from the DGX website:
Power Mode Lumen Output Burn Time
- 100% 4300 lumens 3.5 hrs
- 50% 2150 lumens 7 hrs
- 25% 1075 lumens 14 hrs
- 5% 215 lumens 70 hrs
- 1% 43 lumens 350+ hrs
- Strobe 4300 lumens (10% duty cycle) 35 hrs
Am I correct in interpreting that to mean that the output versus time would look like this:
Hours – Output
0. 4300
1. 4300
2. 3440
3. 2580
4. 1720
5. 860
6. 1% mode – 43 lumens
The output over time figures that you provided are pretty close but a little low based on my calculations.
I like my EX35. I haven’t noticed any significant drop off after the first hr.
Right. Like I said in the first place. It is full output for 1 hour and then starts tapering down. So, you SHOULDN'T see any drop after the first hour. It SHOULD still be full output at the 1 hour mark.
Many dives, well over. 1hr. No perceived drop off. And not to. Take anything away from UWLD.. but I have been diving with buddies using them, (>1hr as well). Never felt like my light was underperforming at all.
...Love to hear what you are basing your assertion on.
