Does anyone have a Dive Rescue Truck? We currently use a trailer, but our long term goal is to buy a truck. Sample picture below. I can find some pictures of our trailer if people would like.

other than spending tax payers money on toys, and maybe a 10 minute advantage in deployment time *which contrary to whatever you might say is pretty much irrelevant since most "rescue" departments are actually recovery departments especially if you're volunteer* what advantages does a truck get you over a well set up trailer that can be pulled with the rescue pickup trucks? Trailer gives you changing area for drysuits, places to sit with all of your gear set up so you aren't having to pick the gear up, just sit down, strap in and go, allows you to have enough bank bottles to refill tanks if needed, etc, etc.

Valid questions.
We do more than dive rescue/recovery. We are a full "service" search and rescue team. The trucks we have explored in the past have more than enough room for a diver to sit down at his station and strap in and go. We will still be able to have 6 seats/dive set ups ready at all times.
We are looking to reduce the number of trailers brought on calls. The truck will accommodate the majority of our equipment in our light rescue truck. Rope rescue (high/low angle) will be stored in this vehicle as well. It will also provide two small work centers, charging locations for portable radios etc.

Ultimately we would like to have less trucks and trailers. Trying to combine a few things.
We have a heavy rescue truck but none of our dive equipment is on the truck, this truck does have a fill station on it that we do use on dive calls though. We have two quick sets for rapid deployment on our squad truck for rescue. This gets us through until the county dive team arrives on scene.

The is what we ended up with. After much research into the use of a trailer it was decided on a truck. The members built and installed a cascade system to fill our bottles. All of the equipment for the cascade was donated by area departments. The truck carries all our dive gear, surface Ice rescue and swift water equipment.

So far so good with the new truck, it has been on a few runs already. We saved the town a fairly decent amount of money by purchasing a used truck. The ability to fill our own bottles and the light tower have enabled us to pretty much operate without tying up addition fire resources.
